Narrator Christian Fox portrays Hawaii real estate mogul Maxon Reed as he coerces his hook-up, Keeley Kent, to distract his estranged brother so he he can steal his multimillion-dollar listing. Fox inhabits an arrogant, money-driven jerk with casual panache. He throws off Maxon's callous one-liners with swagger and brings listeners into Maxon's head to hear his family baggage and evolving relationship with Keeley. His voice for Keeley is low and unpretentious. Keeley's character, mostly expressed through dialogue, radiates curiosity and concern. Maxon's dialogue is sometimes too fast for clarity, and it's difficult for Fox to sell Black's contrived conclusion.
