Ashley delivers a deeply emotional second installment of the Chaos contemporary romance series (after Own the Wind). Advertising executive Lanie Heron is recovering from a first marriage gone terribly wrong, and determined not to ever give anyone such power over her again—until Hopper Kincaid, a single dad, wins her heart. Hopper’s had his own share of heartbreak, but if he’s sure of one thing, it’s that Lanie is the ideal woman for him. After a one-night stand turns into much more, Hopper and Lanie are forced to examine their true feelings for each other and decide whether they can go the distance. Punctuated by blistering-hot sex scenes and fascinating glimpses into the tough world of motorcycle clubs, this romance also delivers true heart and emotion, and a story that will stay with the reader long after the final page is turned.

Lanie Heron isn't looking for a relationship. After her then fiance got involved with the mob and Lanie and her best friend were injured, she has never forgiven herself. It's now been seven years of holding herself back from living, so Lanie decides to take a step forward, in this case a one-night stand with Hop Kincaid, one hot biker who runs with the Chaos Motorcycle Club. VERDICT Ashley spends more than a third of the book proving to the reader that Lanie and Hop are in a physical relationship, then does a good job of developing these characters and creating a solid plot.
