PreS-Gr 2-This charming series examines all the ways families are unique and yet still very much the same. Children are introduced to different types of families, such as blended, same-sex parents, foster parents, single parents, and extended families. Celebrations are religious, cultural, or created to suit a family's needs. These include Day of the Dead, Juneteenth, birthdays, and report card days. Readers will learn how families share their own traditions and values and how they can work together to improve their communities and their homes. VERDICT This series is a loving look at the importance of families.
